I’m not sure why we’re re-voting to pick a “runner up” or what a “runner up” wins… but it’s neat to see all the other submissions that didn’t make the cut.

Alabama Book Festival

bookposter.jpgThe end of April saw the 2nd Annual Alabama Book Festival down in Montgomery. It was twice as big as last year. The pictures don’t show just how nice the weather was, but it was perfect. We got to see lots of authors whose names we had heard but never met. It’s amazing how many of your preconceived notions go out the window once you see the face behind the voices you’ve been reading.

Hopefully next year will be even bigger.

Balloon-Dah Day!

We took the C to his first Do Dah Day. He loves dogs and there are doggies-a-plenty at Do Dah Day. Unfortunately, the nice folks from Benjamin Franklin Plumbing were handing out balloons.

And, well, C was so taken with his balloon, that he missed all of the dogs. Fortunately for him, I guess he was too distracted to notice the overwhelming smell of poo and the absence of bras on 85% of the ladies there.

Guess, T and I should’ve picked up one of those balloons.

Takes the Cake

You’ve probably seen the “icing photo cakes” that grocery store bakeries can now print using computerized icing/frosting printers. All you have to do is email them your photo. All the “cake artist” has to do is send that email to the printer… and maybe proofread. Maybe…
