18 06 2007

We bought a few new prints at this year’s Magic City Art Connection. The three-day event was packed with a lot of new artists that hadn’t shown in Birmingham before.
We did miss the Indian Classical-Folk Fusion Dance performance (I can’t imagine what that was like), but the puppet show was pretty funny and the fried [...]

When Developers Dream…

27 07 2006

Wade on Birmingham has a link to an article mapping out some wishful thinking. In the article developers and realty folks outline their vision for Century Plaza and its surrounding area. Let’s just say there’s a lot to be done before big anchor stores look to come back to this side of town. But I guess it’s good to have goals. Here’s a link to Wade’s mention and the article itself.

Wade also shines his light on the plight of Scott’s Koneys, just as we did earlier this week. Also, Andre over at Dre’s Ramblings kicked up the discussion another notch. Those are two big guys with big megaphones. Maybe folks will take note now.

Don’t talk about my big megaphone, it’s not polite.

I’d be thrilled to see more retail options at Century Plaza, or a new office/residential development. It’s still a high-traffic location and near my home.

    Thanks for the shoutout.
